To Aldren a good day would have meant no sun and a soft rain pounding on the roof. It seemed that he wouldn't be getting that wish since the sun shone brightly outside. The sun made him think of youth. More like rub it in actually.
He paced around his office. Waiting for the day to start so he could talk to Faddarz, the Quest Patron. He liked to wait until exactly 8:00 before starting any personal business and today was no exception.
Aldren had become so used to his routine. It ruled his life. Wake up at this time, do this much work for this many hours and go to sleep at this time. Day in a day out. For decades. Oh how quickly the years had past him by and now he was a feeble old man.
"God Damn this sunshine!" He shouted out the window. It always put him in a foul mood and hurt his old eyes. But a small part of him, a very small part they even he didn't recognize, liked the light. It reminded him of days when he was the strongest and bravest warrior out there. Basking in the light of day with the woman he loved. But then the other part took over and he began to sulk again.

Ravyn had keen senses. Many had called her "Eagle", so that was the title she took up when she became a hero. She had actually been going back from target practice when she heard the Guildmaster shout. It was a bright and sunny day. Maybe someone had died. She walked to his office and knocked on the door softly.
"Guildmaster?" she called softly.

She decided the Guildmaster probably didn't want to be bothered. She turned around a little curious on what had caused the Guildmaster to yell.

The Guildmaster looked up from his desk, toward the door. He knew all the Guild disciples names. Training them to be the best had become his whole life. And even though he had probably only had one conversation with each of them during their entire guild career, he knew all their names. Couldn't forget them, not even after they joined Avo in paradise.... or Skorm.
"Come on in Eagle." He said just loudly enough for her to hear.

Ravyn heard her name called. Her title. She walked in the office.
"I hope I'm not disturbing you Guildmaster." she said.

Aldren stood as the black haired woman entered the room. He smiled the most convincing smile he could as she walked in.
"No, No, Ravyn please come in. Sit down..." He said as he motioned toward the chair opposite his desk. "Now please clear something up for me, would you rather be called by your given name or your title?"

Ravyn thought about it.
"My name is fine. I prefer it, actually."she said. "I just wanted to ask if...you had any spare ranged weapons, or books on Skill."

Aldren nodded.
"There are plenty here, what is it exactly that you are looking for? A sturdier ebony bow perhaps?"

"A ebony longbow would be perfect." she said gleefully. "But that's not the only reason I came Guildmaster. I've heard a lot of rumors about a mage. He's powerful. I just wanted your permission to track him, find out he's weaknesses."

Aldren looked up thoughtfully at the young woman before him. She looked like she knew exactly what she was doing and The Guildmaster had no fear that she didn't.
"I haven't heard about this mage Ravyn but if you have then I trust you. Besides I have grown deaf in the walls of the Guild and hear rumors only after they are proven true."
He got up from his desk and walked toward Ravyn. "You have my full support in finding this mage but how about this? I'll make it a Quest. You will get compensation for your work and can choose a partner to take with you. And of course an Ebony Longbow. Does that sound alright?"

"That sounds good." she said. "I'd actually like to go at it alone. as well. I work better that way."
She reached out and picked up the Ebony Long Bow. It felt light and strangely smooth. The wood was a deep black and blue, curved perfectly. She thanked the Guildmaster but before leaving, she added,
"I won't kill him Guildmaster. I'll just make sure he won't bother Bowerstone again."
And with that, she walked out, determined to find this Bandit Mage.

Aldren nodded at Ravyn's determination while making a mental note to give her some gold when she completed the quest.
The he sat down in his leather chair and sulked some more about the abysmal weather.

"Guildmaster" said Charles, "how do i become something other than a chicken chaser?" He didn't understand the name, he only chased that chicken onetime because it stole his carrot.

Aldren didn't even look up from his desk as Charles Goodfellow walked into the room.
"Well Charles, you obviously haven't declared what you are yet? Bandit, Hero or a Citizen of Albion. You must choose and then your title as Chicken Chaser will be forgotten"
Although Aldren doubted that anyone would forget about the incident with Charles and the carrot-loving chicken.
