I need a drink.

Ravyn had just returned from her quest. She waited for her partner from the quest. They needed a drink. Her first quest completed, even though it was just beetles. She liked Neverfall. He was a good companion. She ordered a table for 2 and drinks.

[Neverfall]

Neverfall limped into the tavern. After the quest with the beetles, he had started to make his way to Bowerstone when he was ambushed by two wasps. One managed to sting his right leg, but he was able to kill them before they were able to make another move. He spotted Ravyn at a table and sat across from her. "Evening," he said.

[Megan Mexere]

Ravyn smiled, but then saw Neverfall's leg.

"What happened?" she asked. There was concern in her voice.

[Neverfall]

"A couple of wasps, nothing to worry about. I've suffered worse. I'll feel better once I've had a few mugs. So I hear there's another quest available. Care to fill me in?"

[Megan Mexere]

Ravyn's smile returned.

"Well, there's a cave of Balverines. Over a dozen of them, led by 3 white ones. There's a red-rose mushroom that an alchemist needs for a potion for eternal life. It sounds deftly exciting. You should join me." Ravyn said.

[Neverfall]

"Balverines!" Neverfall chuckled softly. "Are you mad? Over a dozen, and three white ones? Those damn beasts will tear you apart."

[Megan Mexere]

"Well, there's a potion availible that will turn you into a Balverine. But it only lasts a day. There's also only 2 available spots left, and I think 5 heroes are more than enough to handle some brown and white dogs." she said, grinning.

[Neverfall]

"A potion that turns you into a Balverine..." Neverfall took a swig from his mug as he pondered. "I don't know. It's very risky. The only things deadlier than Balverines are Minions. Suppose we don't get out of the cave in time and the potion wears off." Neverfall downed his drink in one gulp. "Alright, I'll do it."

[Megan Mexere]

Ravyn beamed. "That would be delightful." she replied while gulping down 2 drinks.

"I would love to stay Neverfall, but I have to leave now." Ravyn said. "I'll see you around, Beetle slayer." She gave Neverfall a playful punch and smile, before leaving the tavern.

[Neverfall]

"Bye," Neverfall called after her. Half an hour passed and Neverfall was still at the table, surrounded by twelve mugs. He got to his feet and fell flat on his face. Damn, she was supposed to make sure I didn't drink too much. Oh well, I just need to get some rest. He staggered upright and slowly made his way up the stairs to the beds. He plopped himself down on one and was out in seconds.

[Neverfall]

Neverfall groggily lifted his head from the pillow. "Damn, how long was I out?" he asked no one in particular.

"A few days," replied the barkeep, who was dusting the shelves of some bookcases.

Neverfall rose to a sitting position. "What day is it?!"

"Saturday, friend."

"By Avo, I'm gonna be late for the quest!" Neverfall rose from the bed and was about to race down the stairs when he was stopped by the barkeep.

"There's the matter of payment for the bed."

"Oh, right, here's 100 gold." Neverfall shoved the money into the barkeep's hand.

"Not so fast, sir. Take a look at that bed you slept in." Neverfall looked over the barkeep's shoulder. The bed was covered in vomit, and the stench, which Neverfall just acknowledged, was horrible. "I'm afraid I'll need payment for a new bed, too."

"Damn it all, how much is a bed?!"

"1000 gold."

"1000 gold?! I only have 750 in my account!"

"Then I guess that quest of yours will have to wait, until you have worked long enough to pay off that other 250."

"Well, can I come back after the quest? I'll have enough money then."

"Sorry, son, but if I let you go, then you won't come back."

"How do you know? I'm a man of my word."

"When you've lived as long as me, you don't trust people, just their money. I'm sorry, but there will be other quests."

Neverfall felt a rage swell inside him, and his vision became cloudy. When he was able to see clearly again, he saw the barkeep's body lying on the floor, his head in Neverfall's hand. Neverfall looked at it in horror. How could I have done such a thing? Neverfall dropped the head and sat on the floor. I need to hide the body, so no one will find it for a few days. Neverfall went to the closet and opened it, then dragged the barkeep's body inside. He picked up the head and put it in a drawer. He left the bar as stealthily as possible. His clothes were covered in vomit and the fresh blood of the innocent whose life he just snuffed out. He fled Bowerstone into the Crossroads.

[Scarr]

Scarr was new to Bowerstone. The first place he visited though was the pub (as always).
Wondering in Scarr headed for the bar to request some fresh water but was denied it as there was nobody to serve him.
'Weird' thought Scarr. Moving through each room in search of some service Scarr came across a horrid stench. Scarr opened the door to where this smell was coming from and immediately saw blood seeping through the wooden floorboards.
'Disgusting!' said Scarr out loud. Being the good samaritan that he was Scarr headed for the closet to clear the mess up.
This was a bad idea, a body fell into Scarr as he opened the door. Scarr let out a terrified yell and fell back wards in horror, it was the barkeeper!

'MURDER, MURDEEEEER!' shouted Scarr at the top of his voice. He sprinted out onto Bowerstones street continually yelling this.

[Darryl Horn-ere]

Darryl rushed out of the pub, he had remained hidden until just now.
"Wait a sec' will you, I'll explain everything!"
Darryl waited exactly five minutes before he spoke again.
"Are you gonna calm down, or what?"
