Ellen leaned back on the grassy fields that made up the guilds training grounds. She was dressed simply in her old apprentice clothing. Even as a full fledged hero she still liked the clothes, she had grown quite used to them when training here, and still wore them often. It was a wonderful day, maybe a bit hot, but a slight breeze kept it comfortable.
On days like today she liked to keep herself free from responsibilities, and so no thought went to the possible quest cards in the map room. There were plenty of heroes in Albion who would love to take the cards, no, today she was going to relax on the grounds of her home.
A casual glance to her left showed young apprentices fencing with wooden weapons. She remembered training with them, and the many bruises that had brought. She had come a long way since than, and a content sigh escaped her as she looked out over the small guild pond with a smile.

David was going to go fishing in the Guild pond, when he saw another Hero, one he'd never met before. So he sat next to the Hero and began to fish.
"Hi" he said, putting his hand out to shake hers "I'm David"

Ellen casually glanced over at the young man who had sat next to her. She pushed herself up into a sitting position; taking the man, David's, hand and giving it a light shake.
"Nice to meet you." She said with a slight nod of her head. "I'm Ellen."
She leaned back again as David began to fish in the pond. Watching the ripples run along the otherwise calm waters. She glanced back to David.
"So, you're a guild member, right?" She paused for a second, watching his reaction, "I just recently finished my apprenticeship and was wondering if the quests are always so dangerous. I mean, I knew they would be... it's just... it's so much different than training."

"Well, I couldn't exactly call 'em safe" David responded, then he thought to himself for a moment "You wouldn't know about a man nick-named Dread would you?" [yes Margath the Pirate Quest starts soon, and yes you can join]

Ellen closed her eyes in thought for a moment. A small frown grew along her face as she thought of the name. Finally she shook her head,
"No... the name doesn't sound familiar to me." She turned to face David, a questioning look on her face, "Should it?"

David took a deep breath and then began "Derek "Dread" Vinci was the most feared pirates in the history of Albion. Only a few years back, he was the terror of the high seas, he was said to hold the greatest treasure in the world, and his ship was legend to be able to out run any ship or beast in the entire sea. Strange thing is about ten years ago him and his crew disappeared, some say to a cursed island." Once David finished he pulled a map out of his pocket "This is the map that leads to that very same cursed island."

Ellen listened carefully to David's tale. As it came to a finish and he pulled the map out of his pocket she leaned closer to see it better.
"You have a map to it?" She glanced up from it to look at David. "Wait... are you planning to go there? And why are you telling all this to me." She gives the map another quick glance, "I mean... we just met and you're already showing me a map to a cursed island that I assume has treasure... and... wait... are you inviting me along?"

"Heck, I see no better way to start." David said as he got up "If your interested I'll be in the map room" David said as he put the map back in his pocket and began to walk away. "Oh ya, one more thing" he exclaimed as he halted his walk "Welcome to the Guild" he said cheerfully then he walked away.

Ellen lay on the grass for some time after David left. She continued staring out at the pond, watching the stillness of the water. I should take him up on the offer... I mean... I obviously wouldn't be traveling alone and it'd be nice to have the help of someone who's been in the guild for awhile...
She sat up, stretching her arms above her before getting to her feet. Her left leg had fallen asleep in her time on the ground and she walked slowly, favoring her right leg as she went to the map room.
((I suppose this topic is closed unless someone heads her off before she enters the guild. If not I think this was quite a pleasant start to the RP.))
