Enigma thought he must look a fool, sitting there on the pier staring blindly at the horizon. What was the point of the ocean if you couldn't enjoy the view? Yes, the sound of the waves and the warm rays of the sun on his skin were relaxing, but those things were pointless to him. All he wanted to know was when the next ship was coming in to dock and more importantly who was on it.
There was a splashing sound and a moment later Riddle approached him from behind, her claws clicking bluntly against the wooden planks. She stopped next to him and shook, covering him in a fine spray of salt water. Enigma scowled and wiped his face with his sleeve before standing up with a sigh.
"Let's go for a walk..." he said. He sounded calm but his chest was painfully tight with the need to vent his frustration and anger. As he left the pier and started off down the beach he felt the palms of his hands begin to prickle. Clenching his fists at his sides, he focused completely on Riddle. When she began to relax, her path become looser and more playful due to the lack of people near by, Enigma gave in.
With a furious snarl Enigma sent a huge pulse of formless will at the near by cliff face, a pointless and wasteful attack, but it made him feel better. As tiny bits of rock and dust descended on him he fell completely still, panting and gritting his teeth as he fought to regain his composure.

Glenroy was on the pier as well. He saw Enigma throw his will at the cliff. "What's wrong?" He asked?

Enigma spun on his heel, his head whipping back and forth in search of the source of the voice. At his side Riddle only whined in confusion, apparently at a loss as to why she hadn't noticed the man there before. After a moment she gave a halfhearted warning growl, just to be on the safe side.
"What's wrong?" Enigma repeated, fishing for time as he tried to sense the stranger's intentions. His random act of violence towards the cliff, while satisfying, had left him drained and tired. If he was attacked his only defense would be Riddle, and he didn't want to put her in danger.
"Nothing is wrong," he finally said, a blatant lie but never-the-less the best he could come up with. He forced his stiff posture to relax and nodded in the direction of the pier where he'd finally deduced the man to be standing. "Who are you?"

"I'm Glenroy. I'm here visiting my father." Glenroy said. "And you don't almost start a rockslide when your not pissed off. If it's personal that's ok"

One of Enigma's thin eyebrows rose at Glenroy's comment and for just a moment his usual wry smirk returned before he forced it down once more.
"Alright, Glenroy. Perhaps something is wrong but it would take far too long to explain." He waved a hand dismissively before placing it atop Riddle's head. He hovered there for a moment, uncertain as to whether he should just leave or if he should perhaps make the effort to be civil to someone willingly for a change. In the end he sighed and said, "My name is Enigma." Well, he thought, it would have been rude to not even introduce himself.

"Hmmm Your name is just as mysterious as you are. Well I have pretty much all day so unless your story will take over 24 hours we should have time." Glenroy said back.

Enigma sniffed and shifted his weight, lifting his hand from Riddle's head to fold his arms across his chest. "Why are you so interested?" he asked, suddenly suspicious. It wasn't that he had any objections to relaying his story to Glenroy - sometimes it was nice to just talk about his situation to someone - but he was tired and out in the open as he was anyone could listen in without him realizing and that thought made him uncomfortable.

"Well I wouldn't ask if somone else was angry but you do realise that you threw a ball of will at the cliff. Most people don't do that." Glenroy said

"Most people aren't capable of throwing a ball of will at a cliff," Enigma replied calmly, perfectly aware that he was evading the subject at hand. "Unless you see a lot of angry heroes around these parts?" He sighed and without waiting for an answer shook his head and looked away - or rather turned his head away for effect. "Look, if you're that interested I'll tell you, but not here. Is there somewhere more secluded around here where we won't be overheard?"

Glenroy brought Enigma to a table in the corner of the tavern. "So what's wrong "hero"? He asked

Enigma sat down carefully at the table. He was far to proud to put up with missing the chair and falling over in public. Once he was seated and Riddle has settled herself down beneath his feet to growl at random passersby he reluctantly began explaining. Or rather he tried too. He honestly had no idea where to begin.
Eventually he decided to cut the story as short as he could possibly get away with. "I was abandoned by a friend," he said bluntly, "Because of my... disablility. He tugged lightly at his blindfold to illustrate his point. "That's the short of it anyway."

"Oh" Glenroy said drinking deeply. "Was it a lady friend?"

Enigma snorted in amusement involuntarily. Covering his mouth for a moment he shook his head. "No, it was not. He was a friend from the Guild, that's all. I prefer not to have 'lady friends'."

"Oh. OH. Ohhhhhh." Glenroy said. "Well why did he abandon you? It couldn't of been just cause your blind."

Enigma chose not to think about how easily Glenroy had apparently guessed what he'd meant and carried on. "He left because he's selfish." He said it casually, like it was as simple a character trait as being blonde or a follower of Avo. "I don't blame him. I wouldn't have done the same if the roles where reversed but that's just the way he is. I just wish he'd hurry up and come back though."
Sighing, Enigma leaned back in his chair. Beneath his feet he felt Riddle sigh too, her ribs flexing against the back of his calf.

"Well." Glenroy said. "Is there anything I could do to help?"

"I doubt it," Enigma said, shaking his head and frowning slightly. "He could be anywhere and I doubt he's in Albion. We travelled around a lot before I lost my sight and well... the chances of finding him are next to nil. Not unless he wants to be found." He paused and then nodded at Glenroy. "Thank you for the offer though..."

"Well I'll be around if you need me for anything." Glenroy said standing up and draining his mug. "Nice meeting you." He said and walked away.
