Following my short tirade will be the character application that you need to fill out in order to become a member of this site. All you have to do is copy and paste it.
Now once you exit this message you need to create a thread with the name of your character as the title. This will serve as both your application and (if you are accepted) a journal for you to update when ever you want.
Journals are exceptionally useful because this is where you can write for the first time in 1st person. It is your character's journal and can help you keep track of what is going on with your character, who they have interacted with and other things. It will also help anyone who doesn't know you yet learn some background information about your character.
The inventory of your character will need to be kept track of in your journal as well. Once you buy and object it is up to you to write down it is yours in your inventory. When you use it or sell it then it needs to be taken out of your inventory.
Example: 2 Health Potions
1 Resurrection Phial
1 Iron Longsword
1 Oaken Crossbow
(then, at the end of another post)
1 Health Potion
1 Iron Longsword
1 Oaken Crossbow
If you decide to kill of your character then their character application, along with their journal, will be moved to the Oakvale Cemetery. If you wish to leave your items to a spouse or another character you know then by all means do but trading between your own characters is not allowed.
One more thing. If you wish you can start out as a bandit instead of a Hero. They have quests just like the Heroes Guild but tend to be a bit one sided with the moral points. Also, keep in mind that while Bandits and Heroes can get into their opposing place, they cannot take quests from said place until they switch their allegiances. If this is ideal for you then explain that in your application. (It is also possible to be an everyday citizen, they will be allowed in the Guild)
Alright, here is the Application:
Character Name:
Age: (16 and up. Younger wouldn't be graduated yet)
Eyes:
Hair:
Face Description:
Body Description: (including scars, skin color, markings etc.)
Strengths: (Hobbies, Talents, Things the character is good at)
Weaknesses: (Fears, vices, things they're bad at)
Animal Companion: (optional) Hobbes, Balverines, Trolls and Dragons aren't allowed.
Moral Standing: (Good, Evil, Neutral) Meaning what you want to be. Everyone starts out neutral. Unless you committed good/evil deeds in your history.
Weapon of Choice: (Sword, Axe, Mace,Crossbow,Staff, Other)
Skill of Choice: (Strength, Skill, Will)
Born: (In or Country-side Around) (Any City or Area available in Fable)
Family: (A paragraph to explain who raised your character and the family setup. Include siblings, parents, maybe even grandparents and explain what happened to them or if they are still alive.)
Character History: (Paragraph that describes important life events for the character, also remember to include people they knew if you want to know someone at the beginning of the story. Spouses, Children, Siblings, and Parents should all be remembered if you arranged to have someone else play as them. So include them in your history)
Personality: (Just a brief explanation of what you character is like.)
Sample RP: (Quick roleplay of you writing as your character. Although if you are a novice it won't be that big a deal because the administration can set up private RP Lessons through the Private Message system on Proboards.)
