Magpie knew what he would do to gain possession of 'Killer instinct'. He would 'join' the Guild, and gain access to their library. He didn't even need to graduate, only to get in as an initiate. "Easy." He thought to himself. Maybe he was wrong.
Magpie banged on the great gate of The Guild, waiting for someone to open it.

If Aldren hadn't been taking a midnight walk he wouldn't have heard the pounding on the Gates of the Guild. It sounded frenzied so Aldren grabbed an old forgotten longsword from the training area and went to open the gate.
A thick chain held it closed and Aldren kept it in place, only loosening it so that he could see who was on the other side of the gate.
As the gate creaked open he saw it was a man, covered in will lines with a blinded eye. Already Aldren was wary about the whole thing.
" Excuse me sure, but are you aware that it is the middle of the night? What do you require with the Guild?"

Magpie thought quickly. Putting on a false identity, although some of it was true, most of it wasn't, he put on a Samarkandian accent. "I heard about this magnificent Guild, and decided, I'd try to join, my melee and skill with bows aren't that good, and I could train my skills here. I also heard that... well... I could go on adventures and do quests here... Oh, my name is Rogerick Asofod." Magpie smiled, he didn't consider the Guild Master stupid, but he thought he put on the fake identity and name well.

Griff arrived back at the Guild, it was late and he began to think he should not of stopped to go fishing but at least he got to eat. Walking up to the gates he spotted the Guildmaster talking with somebody. Griff decided to go over and see who it was, as it could be a new member to the Guild.
As he neared closer he recognised the man. It was the one who destroyed Glenroy's shop. Griff drew his blade immediately and yelled "What are you doing here?!? Guildmaster this is one of Hawks bandits, this man has destroyed Glenroy's shop in Bowerstone, Magpie is his name" - { I won't delete this but I'm taking it out of the story line, THE GUILDMASTER}

"Excuse me?! I believe you have the wrong person sir. How could you accuse me of such a thing?!" He yelled to the man.
[[How would you know my characters name? Also, you weren't there when my guy destroyed the shop, so how would you know what he'd look like?]]

Death was following, Arthur. He wandered to the guild gates, "Hello, Griff. My name is Arthur, oh there's no need wondering how I know your name. But I was wondering. Would you be willing to join my crusade?"

Luckily for all people involved the Guildmaster had been distracted by a caterpiller crawling up his leg. He definitely wasn't stupid but he had an affinity for the creepy-crawlies. Aldren hadn't even noticed what had occured between Griff and Rogerick, if anything had occured at all. By the time he looked up it seemed that things were settled, and now Aldren had a brand new creature to add to his terrarium.
"Hello Griff." The Guildmaster said to the man standing next to Rogerick Asofod. The next few sentences were directed more toward Rogerick then Griff and Aldren Thell could sense that he was being passive aggressive, condescending, and the likes but he didn't care. The lot had cut precious minutes out of his already short midnight stroll.
"This man here say's he's Rogerick, that he wants to join the Guild, but, seeing that it's the middle of the night, I'm not very keen to let him in. You see I was out for a stroll and the pounding on the gate disturbed me from the pleasant walk. You," Aldren said now addressing Griff directly, "Should not have been out fishing late again. So I guess you will have to stay out here as well and keep dear Rogerick company. Rogerick, please come back when the sun is up otherwise I fear I'm in such a terrible mood that I can't grant even the most simple of requests, even from a kind Samarkandian Diplomat like yourself. Goodnight!" Aldren finished and shut the gate with a loud thump.
He knew he was being harsh and perhaps his mood would get better when he finished a quick walk around the Guild Woods. If they were all still there when he returned Aldren decided he might let them in. Might.

''Rogerick'' slumped down against the wall next to the gate, waiting for the morning.

Griff sat down a few feet away from "Rogerick" not even keen to acknowledge who he was. Griff could tell that not all was right about him, and that he had something to hide. If his bandit nature were still within him, he would of cut his throat and taken all his belongings and be long gone by now, but that was the old him. Finally Griff spoke up "Just level with me, who are you really? I can feel something strange about you and I can tell your not interested in really joining the Guild to become a Hero. To be quite honest I don't know why I joined." Griff didn't feel directly threatened by the man, and to be honest, if he was going to do more harm than good in the Guild Griff welcomed it, he longed for some action. "You know, I used to be a bandit. Worked my way up to assassin, I still to this day have no idea why I left. I met someone called Glenroy, he just had a way with words. I became confused as to what I wanted and left them. Hawk said that he may take me back when I find out what I want. But I don't think I could go back, he may still hate me. What I really want is to be head of my own clan, but not like bandits, more like if people have a problem, they come and pay us to "fix it" for them. Ah but a man can dream" Griff let himself get a little run away with his dreams and his life, but he didn't mind. He wasn't trying to make the man open up so Griff could report it to the Guildmaster but more because he wanted him to know that Griff posed no threat

Arthur seemed to be a ghost or shadow. No-one seemed to notice him. Until the young man sat down on the gate, jumped and shouted "Who's there." It seemed this man was a hero.

Charles had slept through supper and was wandering the guild in search of a midnight sack, when he heard some conversing outside of the guild walls. He climbed up to see three men sitting out side. "Who is there?" he yelled

Griff looked up and saw a man on the fence. "Just two people having a conversation, you should do yourself a favour and not sneak up on people like that unless your looking to get your head cut off, now if you'lll excuse us we are having a conversation" Griff turned back to Rogerick and waited for his response

"Ah I see." I will leave you and your "Rogerick" or should I call you by another name" Arthur snarled. Arthur looked up and saw a lone man watching him and the two others, "You there, what is your name?" He Shouted(This is after me and magpies fight)

"Begone Darkhorde. Take your foul business elsewhere. How about Snowspire? I hear they take in scum there." Magpie turned to Griff, he knew who he was, but he couldn't risk being turned in to the Guildmaster, and didn't trust him. "I really have no idea who this Hawk is, or what you mean by Bandit Clan. I simply want to join this Guild. Why? It sounds like you think I'm a bandit?"

"Witty Darkhorde. Are you sure your real family would be proud of what you are doing? Think about it. Now I know for a fact, that they wouldn't. If you want to know how I know... Then you could always ask. Politely." Magpie grinned at the Temple Of Skorm's leader, who let out the smallest look of surprise, at someone mentioning that.

"My real family." Darkhorde laughed "They are not alive any more." Arthurs heart leapt though they cannot be alive, can they? he thought

Magpie sat silently against the wall. His pet Beetle on his shoulder. Magpie was staring at a worm on the ground, waiting for the morning. Darkhorde stood infront of him, and Griff was sitting next to him, resting.

Arthur decided he needed to know about his parents, carefully he made sure Griff was asleep and then said "I must know Magpie, tell me the truth about my family."
