Ravyn patiently awaited the arrival of her fellow Guildsmen/woman. She wouldn't start without them. A lone Balverine would look a little suspicious. She wondered what it would feel like, to transform into a Balverine. Would she be a white Balverine, or a brown one? Would she lose control and go wild? She frowned. All of these questions were important, but she would have to wait to get an answer...

Daygon wondered up to the girl dressed smartly in his new leather suit and iron Axe. He stood next to her, introduced himself and then froze. The sudden realization of what the quest involved hit him hardly. 'First quest turning into a balverine! I must be mad' said Daygon out loud. Daygon knew he would get badly injured for he had practiced with his new iron Axe on the way up to the quest and somehow managed to hit everything apart from what he was aiming at.
But he could not turn back now for he had already accepted so instead Daygon slumped down and sat down with his arms around his legs fighting back the tears.

Ravyn crouched down besides the other hero.
"It's o.k. No matter how bad it gets, we'll pull through, I know it." she said. "Don't cry, it's o.k. I'll always be behind or in front of you. Me, and one of the other heroes, have already done a quest. We'll help you through."

Glenroy approached the two figures near the statue. "Look guys I know I can't come with you guys" he said. "But I came here to wish you well. Daygon I hope that axe serves you well. And Ravyn that bow. Guys just... take care in there. I'll wait with you for the others and then I must depart."

Faddarz walked up to the trio of heroes, potion in hand. "I hope you all realize what you're about to do," he said gravely. "Never before has a Quest like this happened, so I can't say if it's possible that all of you will make it back alive. Daygon, get it together! I have no idea what will happen to you when you drink this potion, but if you go into this quest weak-willed, you'll end it dead! Now, if I'm not mistaken, there's two more people that need to get here. We'll wait a while, for I do not feel comfortable sending just Ravyn and Daygon. Glenroy, I see you're here. Well, there's really no sense in just standing here. Let's get a drink while we wait for the other two Heroes." Faddarz headed for the bar.

Ravyn nodded, and pulled Daygon to his feet. She thanked Glenroy, and began to walk with Faddarz.

Neverfall arrived in Knothole Glade, and immediately headed for the bar. He saw Ravyn and a few others, his partners for the quest. But he didn't sit with them. Instead, he sat at table near the corner of the bar and ordered a drink, which he downed in seconds. How do bandits do it? How do they kill without remorse, and feel no guilt? This is eating away at me. He thought about it, and realized that in his haste to flee Bowerstone, he had left the 100 gold in the dead barkeep's pocket. I could've locked the door. Could've taken the key, locked the door, and everyone would think that the barkeep moved or something. But soon, people will look, and the decay will start to stink. Sooner or later, someone will find him. And I'll be a marked man. Neverfall stared into his empty mug, wishing there was a spell that would refill it whenever it emptied.

Ravyn saw Neverfall in the corner of the bar, drinking alone.
"If you'll excuse me I see someone I know."she said to the others.
She walked over to Neverfall's table and sat down. He looked glum and guilty.
She smiled and said,"Why don't you join us over there?"

Neverfall stared back at Ravyn. "I...don't want to talk right now." Neverfall rose from the table and walked to the statue. He sat and leaned against it. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't push the memory of killing the barkeep from his mind. The wetness of the blood, the smell of it combined with the stench of the vomit...All this was too much for Neverfall, and he vomited again at the foot of the statue. He wiped his mouth and rose to his feet again. He headed away from Knothole Glade, and found a tree to sit in. He stared off into space, not realizing that a Balverine was making its way towards the entrance of Knothole Glade.

Ravyn watched him go with mixed feelings. She wanted to go after Neverfall and stop him, but she wanted to leave him alone, let him have his own space. She walked back to the group.
"I don't think Neverfall is coming back."she said."But I could be wrong."

Neverfall looked around and saw the Balverine. He leaped from his perch and unsheathed his Silver Augmented katana. He landed in front of the Balverine and slashed at its chest, but it jumped over him and raked its claws across his back. Neverfall cried out in pain, then quickly spun around and cut the Balverine's arm off. Enraged, the Balverine went into a frenzy. It knocked Neverfall's katana from his hand and leaped upon him before he could unsheathe his other katana. The Balverine moved to take a bite out of Neverfall's throat, but he grabbed its jaws and held them apart. He struggled with the beast, trying desperately to stop it from biting him, lest he die or become one himself. "Help!" he called out.

Hearing a cry for help in the distance Daygon rushed out of the pub and sped down the hill. To his horror he found a man on the floor with a balverine trying to bite him. Without thinking Daygon rushed over wielding his Axe and slammed it down into the beasts back. The balverine gave out a moan and dropped dead on top of the man. Quickly pushing the beast off Daygon crouched down next to the man and asked, 'Are you alright, did it bite you!?'

Ravyn ran after Daygon. She saw him hit the Balverine in the back of the head and saw it fall dead. It fell onto Neverfall.
"Neverfall!" she shouted, running towards him.

Glenroy sat with the other heroes. Not being able to take place in the quest, he insisted that he bought the drinks. "So guys the deadline draws near." he said "If theirs anything I can do for you I will." The atmosphere was dead. Daygon didn't speak. He just sat their and sipped at his ale. For Avo's sake the waiting is killing them. "If you get... I mean when you get out if your wounded i'll put you up in my house for a while" he said.

"That's nice, Glenroy. But I won't be the one coming out injured. The Balverines are." Ravyn said, downing another beer."Where's Scarlet, we've been waiting for hours."

"Hey what's all the commotion?" Glenroy said. Seeing a small group he ran towards them. They were all fussing around a wounded man and the corpse of a Balverine lay to the side. "Guys we may have other problems." he said. There was 10 Balverines marching towards them.

"Looks like the monsters are coming to us." Ravyn said calmly. "You probably won't see them for about 10 minutes but I can hear them. They're a lot more of them coming, including 3 white ones."
Ravyn notched an arrow on her Yew bow. She took at the first Balverine and took fire. The arrow flew straight into the Balverine's shoulder. Blood gushed out of the wound. She fire 3 more shots at the Balverine, One at the heart, one at the head, and one in the abdomen. The Balverine howled. Ravyn fired 4 more shots, in the same areas she had shot before. The single Balverine fell.
"Go! Fight them off for awhile, and when they flee, get inside the Gate and close it!" Ravyn called, while firing arrows suprisingly fast.

Glenroy stood beside Ravyn firing arrows. He notched one took aim and fired. It hit the balverine in the top of the head and ripped off his scalp. The ground around the dead beast was soaked with blood. "Aim for the head!" screamed Glenroy. Him and Ravyn started aiming for the head. By the time the Balverines reached them there was only 3 left. Drawing their swords the warriors leapt forward.

Daygon rushed as fast as he could down the steep hill and slammed the gates shut with all his might (well with a guards help).
Exhausted, Daygon jogged back up the hill with his Axe at the ready in case he came under attack. 'Not too bad for my first battle, although I was stupid enough to let the balverine fall on the poor man' thought Daygon in his head.
Whilst nearing the top Daygon was quickly knocked unconscious by a balverine. The beast stood there growling waiting for the others to arrive with Daygon at its feet.

"Daygon!" screamed Glenroy and skewered the Balverine about to dispatch the unconscious man. Pulling Daygon towards the gates Glenroy was unable to help Ravyn. She would have to kill the other two balverines on her own.
